Historic Exchange Rate Tables
Hi,
I've installed the Quotes & Exchange rate synchroniser, and added some stocks and some exchange rates. The historic stock figures update fine, but when I browse to an exchange rate the table isn't populated with historic data, although today's excahnge rate is showing correctly in the top box. Is this an error?

Paul,
This is not an error. For securities, the extension goes to the Yahoo Finance site and downloads a file of historical prices made available there. The the extension converts that file for use in Moneydance.
For exchange rates, the extension grabs the current exchange rate and puts that in the table. There is no previous historical data. For the exchange history the data is created when you either update from the extension or manually enter an exchange transaction.

My currency exchnage history is not storing; it does retrieve the current price for the currency, but it does not store it as an entry into the history unless I specifically click the New button. Is this a bug?

Jay
Are you manually updating the exchange rates or are you using the Quotes and Exchange rates extension?

I am using the extension. I have also noticed that the first time I run the update the stock quotes give the wrong price, but if I update a second time they are good and correct. I am using MD 2011 (latest build) on Ubuntu 64.

Hi,
Our initial fix for the quote downloader did not account for all the erroneous data that Yahoo! is sending out. Fortunately incorrect prices also have obviously incorrect dates and also fortunately, on follow-up tries the prices are usually correct. We are preparing to get MD 2011 R2 out and will not be able to get to fixing this issue right away but it is also a high-priority for us.
If you get incorrect data go to Extension->Quotes and Exchange Rate and press the 'Update Now' button.
This should correct any aberrant data.
Thank you all for your patience, we apologize for the inconvenience.
