I am receiving the following error code when downloading checking transactions to my checking account. I bank at BB&T (Bank Branch and Trust):
The error code reported by the server was: 2000

In addition, when I download Savings transactions, it pulls down my checking transactions into that account.

They both have the same password, but separate account numbers.

Thanks.

    Hi Susan,

...when I download Savings transactions, it pulls down my checking transactions into that account.

The problem you are describing sounds like your accounts are not mapped properlly
The following was posted by forum member Oilcan. Replace E-Trade with the name of your bank.

    -Begin Copy-
Your accounts are not mapped properly (in other words, one E*Trade account is pointing to each of your Moneydance accounts).

Disable the Online Set-up for the problem accounts. Then you will need to re-enable them. Once you have entered your ID and Password click Ok and wait (do not click next). You need to see a window that will display - "Please choose the account you wish to use" - which are your E*Trade accounts listed in a drop down list. If you bypass this window - your Moneydance Account will map to the first account on this list. Sometimes you will need to just wait for this window to pop-up as it can take several seconds. If you click next you will likely bypass this important window. Believe me I am speaking from experience.

    Oilcan
    -End Copy-

Let us know how it works out. OK?

Yes! Thanks, that worked for checking. However, now when I download savings it downloads items prior to the date I specify as the start date and nothing after the start date.

    Susan,

The first time you download in Moneydance, the program "grabs" all the available transactions from the bank's servers for that account. To make sure you're getting all the available transactions, open the account, go to Online->Setup Online Banking, and click the "Reset Sync" button. Download again, and the transactions should be there. I should also note that some banks have a 24-48 hour delay in posting to their direct connection server, so this could be another possible cause.

Let me know how it goes with resetting the sync, and we'll move forward from there.

As of this morning, none of my BB&T accounts will communicate and download transactions. I get a general error 2000.

I have been using Moneydance to access my accounts and download transactions from BB&T for over a year but this morning, nothing associated with BB&T accounts would communicate. My credit card accounts (not with BB&T) still communicate and download.
Has anything changed with the BB&T set-up?

    Hi Doug,

BB&T seems to be updating their servers at the moment. If you try recreating your connection, does that help? To do so, you can follow these steps:

    1) Select your bank account in Moneydance
    2) Select the Online->Setup Online Banking button/menu
    3) Click the Disable button. If you don't see a disable button, continue to step 5.
    4) Select the Online->Setup Online Banking button/menu (again)
    5) Click the New Connection button and select your bank from the list of available institutions that pops up. Hit OK
    6) Continue with the setup process, entering your username/password
    7) Repeat steps 1-6 for any additional accounts

Make sure you pick new connection, even though your bank is still one of the connection choices after you disable it. Choosing your bank from the list of available banks will force Moneydance to download the updated information, which should then allow you to connect.

Please let me know if you continue to have connection problems after recreating your connection.

After choosing BB&T in the new connection window and clicking OK, the next step never becomes active. I assume this is because Moneydance is not able to download the BB&T updated information. I am still dead in the water with regard to my online banking activities.

It's seems like Moneydance is having trouble forgetting your old connection information. To fix this, you'll need to force clear all of your current connection information in Moneydance. I'm sending a file called remove_all_services.py that will help do that. Before proceeding, please back up your Moneydance file, just in case something goes wrong. So far, this hasn't caused any problems, but better safe than sorry!

To use the file, first save it to your computer and then follow these steps:

    1) In Moneydance, click on the Extensions Menu and choose the Add... option
    2) In the window that pops up, make sure the From Internet option is selected and then click next.
    3) From the list of available extensions, choose the python scripting interface extension, then click Next to download the extension and finish to complete the installation.
    4) Again, click the Extensions menu. This time, choose the Python Interface option.
    5) In the python scripting window, click the read from file button and load the file from whereever you saved it. You won't get any confirmation of anything happening, but you also shouldn't get any error messages. Close the window when done.
    6) Set up the connection to your bank like normal. Since all of your settings have been cleared, you should get the most recent connection information for your bank.

Hopefully, that will work. If it doesn't, let me know and we'll continue troubleshooting.
