balance doesn't match
I am having the following problems:
1. The start date for my accounts doesn't match the
downloads—I have a start date of 3/23/2011 and the downloads
go back to 2010— therefore, my Moneydance balance doesn't
match my bank balance.
2. My savings download isn't current. i have transactions that have
occurred since those showing up (which some are prior to that start
date as well).
On both of these issues, I've tried clicking the "Reset Sync" button as suggested in an earlier discussion, but that didn't work.

Hi Susan,
To reconcile the balance issue, access the account in question, then from the Menu bar, click on 'Account' then 'Edit Account'. In the resulting form you can adjust the 'Inititial Balance' so that your balance matches your banks balance.

Should I do this from the start date that was downloaded in my transactions or from today's date? I've already reconciled it from the date I "thought" was the correct.
Also, what about the second issue with my savings? Recent transactions haven't downloaded. There have been several since the last downloaded date.

Hi Susan,
The 'Initial Balance' is not date specific. You just need to adust the initiatial balance so that your balance matches your bank's balance. Click on the 'Balance' in the lower right hand corner of the register for a display of your different balances. The 'Ledger Balance' is your bank's balance.
'Reset Sync' should've setup your account to re-download all of your available txns. This may just be a hiccup in your direct connect connection with your bank and may resolve itself when new txns become available on there server. In the meantime, does your bank allow you to manually download and import your data?
To assist the Moneydance Support Staff in helping you, provide the following:
Version of Moneydance
Operating system and version (32 or 64-Bit)
Version of Java installed
You should be able to glean this information from the first few lines of text diplayed in the Console Window listed under Moneydance's Help menu. Just copy and paste it into your next post.
Also provide the name of your bank and any error message(s) you receive.

Great! I did figure it out for my checking, but my savings is showing a $0 ledger balance, which is definitely not the case.

Hi Susan,
I would try Disabling the Savings account's Online Banking setup and run the Online Banking Setup process again.
Access the Savings account register. When you click on 'Setup Online Banking' and the 'Online Banking Signup' form opens, click on the 'New Connection' button even though your bank is most likely already listed in the drop-down list. Select your bank from the table then follow the prompts as usual. Take your time with this process. Clicking through the Online Banking Setup process too quickly can result in your accounts not being properly mapped.
