MD offers CLEARED transactions as merge options for a downloaded transaction
I'm running MD 2011 build 790 and Java version 1.6.0_24.
I downloaded the days transactions from the bank, and went to merge them. The only outstanding transaction was one that I had not yet put in a manual transaction for, but to my surprise, MD gave me 5 different merge options, all of which had already been downloaded, merged and cleared!
Obviously, clicking on any one of these would cause an immediate problem since it would put my account out of synch with the bank account. I also noticed that some of the details for the merge item are not included on the merge menu, making it harder to pick the right one for the specific transaction.
My suggestions are:
- MD Should not offer any item that has been cleared as a potential merge item. If it has been cleared then it has already been downloaded and merging a second item would effectively "lose" a transaction.
- When a merged item is moused over, hilight the relevant journal entry for the same item. This would help identifying exactly which transaction is being referred to, without cluttering up the merge window with even more information.

I agree that this is potentially unhelpful and confusing. I'd have to double check but I think Moneydance might not have done this historically so this may be a bug that came up in the new release. I've created a ticket for this and attached it to this thread.
