Problem printing an empty transaction report

In earlier releases of MD, if I specified a report date range that included no transactions, I could still print a report with the appropriate titles, but otherwise empty, which is what I wanted. Now, with MD 2011 (790), when I call up my memorized transaction report and edit the dates to select the desired period, if that period includes no transactions, the on-screen report says "There is nothing to report!". But then when I print the report, it prints the report for the period that was in the original memorized report before I edited the date range.

    Gordon,
I'll create a ticket to request that this function is restored but perhaps you could share why you would want to do this, as it may help to make a more compelling case for re-implementation. Thanks.

For example, I create weekly financial reports for my elderly mother, and file paper copies (as well as send copies to my brother). If I go through the file for year ago, and there is a missing page, was it because there were no transactions (a frequent occurrence for my Mom), or because I didn't print the report? As far as I'm concerned, a report that shows no transactions occurred is just as significant as one that shows transactions for the period. I'm looking at what happened during that period of time, and the fact that nothing happened is important.

Also, please restore the printing of the date range at the top of the report! I know there is a field where I can type it in, but I've already had to enter the dates to generate the report -- that should be the default, IMHO.

    Thanks.

That makes a lot of sense Gordon.
Thanks for explaining it for me.
