Memorized transactions, capitalized letter behavior

The problem described below was reported in January 2016 by another user, and acknowledged as a bug. I'd like to add my vote for a fix. Thanks.

I have a new iMac, not sure why that would make it different unless due to upgraded OS (Capitan), but now when entering transactions I get stage behavior of letters as I type. IF MD recalls a prior entry (such as GALLOWAY), but I start typing "g-a-l-l", of course it pulls up GALLOWAY first. If I keep typing "g-a-l-l-e-r-y" though, I would assume any previous capitalization would be undone and I would end up with the new transaction "gallery"-- instead I get GALLery. The capitalization box in preferences seems to have no bearing on this. Not a giant deal I guess but a little bothersome for my OCD. Any suggestions?

    Hi David,

The following is what I do to circumvent Moneydance's overzealous auto correct.

When I notice the ALL CAPS problem happening, I hold down BACKSPACE to get rid of all of the text.
I then enter an errant character; a dash, for instance.
I continue to type in the description - the way that I want it.
When I'm done typing, hit the HOME key to bring your cursor in front of the errant dash.
I hit the DELETE key to get rid of the dash.
I hit TAB to move focus to the Category field.

It has been my experience that going forward, MD's auto-correct treats the next occurrence of that particular payee the way that I want it to. (not ALL CAPS)

    HTH -Kevin N.

    Hi David,

Unfortunately we're still working to resolve this bug in Moneydance. I've attached the relevant bug ticket to this discussion, so that we can notify you of any updates in this thread, and we can let you know when this is resolved.

Kevin, thanks for your workaround. I understand this is less than ideal for the time being. I'll be sure to pass all feedback to the development team.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience.

Kevin - thank you for posting your work around. I appreciate you taking the time to do so. I'll give it a try as it seems faster than what I do, which is to use the mouse to select the improperly capitalized letters and correct them.

Jenny - thanks for the update.
