Appearing/Disappearing confirmation pane is very jarring

It is very, very jarring to have the transaction-confirmation sidebar appear and disappear depending on what kind of transaction I'm editing.

If I'm in the process of confirming downloaded transactions, and I notice something I need to edit in an already confirmed transaction, I naturally click on the transaction I want to modify.

Then the confirmation sidebar disappears, and all the data in the transaction I was targeting shifts around on screen. It leaves me disoriented and it takes a second for me to realize a) what has happened and b) what I was intending to do in the first place.

I have a suggestion: there's that little icon at the top-right of the transaction pane, which you can click to toggle between a split-screen view and a single view. I suggest it have three states.

State one: normal, no split-screens or sidebars. In this state, the sidebar does not appear when you click on an unconfirmed transaction.
State two: just the sidebar. The sidebar is persistent, even when you click on an already confirmed transaction.
State three: the sidebar plus the split screen. Again, these persist no matter what kind of transaction you're currently editing.

    JWC,
I could see how that could be distracting for you while you use Moneydance and I think that is an interesting solution for the problem. I've created a suggestion ticket from you have said and by commenting or 'watching' this thread it will count as a vote in favor of implementation of such a feature.
    Thanks,
