Incorrect credit card calculations
One of my credit card accounts subtracts charges from the
balance and adds payments.
The other cards are working normally.
I suppose I could delete the account and start over, but I'd rather not.

Hi Goofus
Occasionally I have had users write about something similar on this forum and in all cases it turned out on further inspection that the credit card accounts were all functioning correctly. From what you describe the account is working correctly. When you buy something with your Credit Card account the balance on the account will go down (typically cc accounts hold a negative or zero balance) and when you make a payment to a cc account the balance should go up towards zero. Please double check your cc accounts and verify that they are functioning as described.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer

That's not it Ben. My other cards work the way they should. The only
difference between this VISA and the others is that this one is paid off
monthly.
I did find one thing by accident though. I noticed that the expiration
date was January 2000, so I changed it to 2013. When I did that
everything got recalculated and appears to be correct. (I haven't
checked it 100% yet.)
When I changed the date back to 2000, the same wrong figures came back.
I'm aware that the manual says this won't happen, but it does.
The operating system is a common WIN XP SP3 and the data resides in a
USB drive. I tried the USB drive in my notebook running Fedora 8. The
same thing happens.
I'm going to recreate the account and see what happens.
By the way, I've had Moneydance since it first appeared on the net.
This is the first time that something didn't work right for me.

It's fixed, but now I don't know what I did. As far as I know, it was
changing the dates that forced a recalculation. I've tried it in both
WIN and LINUX and it's functioning the same way on all cards.
Thanks for your help, and sorry to have bothered you.

Hi Bob
Its no bother at all. I am sorry if I insinuated that the problem lies with user error. I am more than willing to believe that Moneydance has a bug that is causing the problem. I appreciate you for the update. I have experimented with changing the expiration dates on various cc accounts and have not been able to reproduce the problem you describe. If this occurs again let me know and I would be delighted to investigate further.
I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer
