Missing Transactions After Error 2000 Workaround
I Disabled my connection to Chase and then recreated it as a New account, in order to stop getting the Error 2000 message. I then finally was able to download some recent transactions, but the prior month of items was missing.
How can I download that set of transactions, rather than enter them manually?
Thanks!
Dick

Hi Dick
Click on your bank account from the home page. Click Online->Setup Online Banking Click the "Reset Sync" button
This should enable you to download all previous transactions.
If you need any further assistance please let me know.
Sincerely Ben Spencer

Hey Ben!
Thanks for the help!
Unfortunately that didn't do it. After using the Reset Sync
button, I received the response that my transactions are up to
date ..... but they're not because I'm missing the 30 or so
transactions prior to my last download.
I'd like to set the last transaction downloaded date to 3/18/09.
Then I'd hope to get the missing transactions and duplicates of the 3
recent transactions I downloaded earlier today. I can handle
eliminating a few dups, but hope not to enter a month's transactions
by hand!
Any thoughts?
Dick

Hi Dick I'm sorry that didn't work for you. I am not sure what the cause is. One thought I have is that you could download an OFX/QFX file from your banks website. Not all banks provide this but most do. Usually the banks websites will allow you to specify a date range for the transactions you want to download. If you download such a file you can then import it by selecting Import->"Open Financial Exchange (OFX)" from the file menu.
If this also doesn't work I'd be happy to investigate the problem further. Let me know how you get on.
Sincerely Ben Spencer

Ben:
Thanks, again!
That was my first attempt to solve this dilemma; it hasn't worked.
The Chase server repeatedly gives me a "Bad Server Response" message
when try to download a QFX file in recent weeks (it was fine
earlier), and the support staff says (the first time) "we have a
ticket on this known problem and will call you when it's fixed" or
(the second time) "you must use a web connect to download for
Quicken" (which I had to tell them to get them to stop asking what
software I was using.... when I repeatedly explained that it didn't
matter, since I was only asking for the QFX file. [How's that for a
run on sentence!]
Needless to say it's been exasperating!
If I were to create another account in MD and download to it, could I
merge it with the original?
Appreciatively,
Dick

Ben:
I finally tried downloading a QIF file instead of a QFX file, and it
worked, so I'm now a happy camper!
Isn't QFX the preferred type, because it is less error prone?

Dick, QIF is generally not the best file type to download when the newer ones are available. QIF is necessary for imports from Quicken, but most banks allow downloads in newer, better formats. But QIF will work if that is what is available. Brian

Thanks! Chase shows QFX as an option, but it's not working.

Moneydance won't open it? In what way is it not working? Or did you mean that it won't download?

Brian:
Thanks for asking!
The workaround went fine, but when I downloaded transactions I
received only those for the last few days, rather than for all the
last month or so. Thus, I was missing about a month's transactions.
I have since obtained most of them via an QIF download. True to it's
reputation, several items were missing... but I've manually created
them... so the problem is now FIXED!
All the best.....
