version 2011r2(803)
The updater has just advised me that a new version 0f 2011 is available as above but will not instal it. Do I have to download the new version and write over the older version 2011 (791). I assumed moneydance would update it automatically?? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Hi nailhac,
If I remember correctly, the updater prompts the user to click on a link that brings you to the download site. Correct?
You should then download the appropriate Moneydance installer for your particular Operating System.
When you run the installer, you will be given the option of whether or not to overwrite the prior installation. Unless you are interested in running both ilks of Moneydance, you can just choose to overwrite the prior installation.
I believe that the reason the upgrade process is not as seamless as you might expect is due to the more stringent security permissions put in place by today's Operating Systems.
