Home page net Worth calculation should reflect user choices of Current Balance, Balance, etc.

It seems that one can choose "Current Balance", "Balance" or "Cleared Balance" for Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Investments, etc but the Net Worth (which should be total) does not change. I sometimes enter future payments into my checking account and it would be nice if my net worth was calculated as if this money has been spent - because it has (or will be).

However, I may want current balance on some categories. So, why can't the Net Worth calculation be based on the selections of the user?

Ben, if you see this please see my post in the private thread "Broker account issue when importing from Quicken 2006 for Mac". I resolved the importing problem.

I am not certain that I am in agreement with you that the net worth should be anything other than a sum of the active accounts with the current balance. You can use the "Account balances" report set to the "Balance type" to balance if you need to.

Well as I was trying to reconcile my balances against Quicken, I got each category to match with the exception of Net Worth. Perhaps there needs to be a note by Net Worth on the home page that specifies "Current Balance". I expected Net Worth to change if I changed the categories to Balance (or any other option) as I would like to know at a glance (thus home page) what my net worth is when I've spent everything entered (ie Balance).

Maybe it is just me. However, it is difficult to move from Quicken and see balances different than what is shown in quicken. I had to find Current Balance, Balance, etc. and change Preferences so I could reconcile against Quicken.

I still think the Net Worth on the home page should be a total of the categories above and not just always Net Worth as of today (Current Balance). Maybe have the choices beside net worth like the categories. This would provide the user whatever calculation he desired.

Oh, I got the iphone app to sync and work. Pretty nice. Is there a way to not sync with certain accounts?

Currently thee is no way to exclude certain account though I am sure that in a future release the iPhone app will take the account.inactive flag into consideration.
