When the .md file is stored on the Mac, Moneydance will
"remember" it and open it on subsequent restart of the program.
Good. When the .md file is stored on a file server on the
network (running Samba and connected to Mac with SMB protocol),
when Moneydance restarts I get the screen asking me to create a new
file, open old, etc. It doesnt' remember the previously opened
file.

Is there a way for Moneydance to be told where the file
is and then remember it?

rmschnetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/3602472009-09-11T14:55:06Z2009-09-11T14:55:06ZRemembering last opened file

Hi rmschne

I believe this is related to OS X not automatically mounting
samba shares. Rather than Moneydane not remembering the location of
the last open file. Moneydane remember the path to the network
share and becasue OS X has not mounted the share when Moneydance
asks the operating system for the file OS X return a file not found
message.

What this means is that you have to mount the network share
before running Moneydance. There are a couple of tricks to make
that a bit easier. You can open safari and type in "smb://hostname"
(but don't hit enter!) and then drag the URL (by the icon to the
left of the URL) to the dock in order to quickly open the smb smb
connection. Or here is a link that describes how to auto mount on
login:
