Split Transactions & Reporting

I am working with the Moneydance Trial software (looking for a Quicken replacement). I input a deposit as a split transaction but can't pull those transactions on the Transaction Filter report. On the Edit Splits screen the header says "Memo" but the actual input is on what I believe is the "Description" line not the "Memo" line, thus when I run the Transaction Filter report and select the Memo line (e.g. a client name), I do NOT see transactions which are splits, only those transactions which are entered one by one. Any suggestions?

Hi Jennifer,
Try tinkering around with the 'Find & Replace' extension. It has some different options for displaying Splits.

I'm not trying to add functionality by using extentions in Moneydance, I'm trying to use what is or should already be there. In the Trial software what I'm finding is in reporting when I search for all transactions that have something in the "memo" line (e.g. client name) I am not getting anything that was input via a split transaction.
My potential workaround is to use "tags" for client names, however this is not acceptable for all the data which I will import from Quicken for multiple years back.
(I believe this might be a bug where the edit splits screen allows input into the Description field and not the Memo field. If you run the Transaction report and display "memo" on the report, any transactions entered via the edit split screen will have a blank "memo", thus there is no ability to use the "memo" line for selecting or sorting)
Any help on how I might use the current reporting is appreciated.

I agree with Jennifer. Using Mac-Sierra & MD 2015, the split show Description AND SHOULD BE THE MEMO. Having to type all over & over is redundant in Split Memos....
Seems this should have been fixed with 2017 release?
