Moving Transactions to Different Account

The FAQ on this topic says to click on the Actions button in the transactions screen, then select "Show Other Side" from the resulting list.

That option does not appear on the list.

Is this an error in the list or FAQ .... or is there another Actions button I haven't found?

In any case, how can I move transactions to other accounts?

Thanks!

Dick

    Hi Dick

I believe the faq on this topic is out of date.

To move a transaction to another account right click on the transaction and select "Batch Change->Account" then select the account you want to move the transaction to. If you want to move more than one transaction in one go use ctrl-A to select all or shift select to select a range.

    Sincerely

    Thanks! That does it!

I'm surprise the faq is out of date; it was last revised in May...

Knowledge Base: How do I move a transaction to a different account?

A transaction can be moved from one account to another by taking the
following steps: Select the transaction in the account from which the
transaction will be moved. Double-click on it and select the
"Actions" button at the bottom left corner of the transaction editor,
and click "Show Other Side" from the list. (Or, right-click on the
transaction and chose "Show Other Side" from the context menu.) A new
window for the expense category will open with the "other side" of
the transaction in edit mode. Change the account in the Category
field to the bank, investment, or credit card account you want the
transaction moved to. Press the "enter" key or click on "Record" to
save the change. If the transaction has splits, the Category change
will be made in the other expense accounts, too.

    Hi Dick

I think the FAQ article must have been copied over from the old support site when we updated the site to the new support software. I have now updated the FAQ article. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

    Sincerely
