Sorry if this question has been answered recently - but I searched and the following is the most recent discussion on the topic...

In this post from 2010, its indicated that the functionality to download quotes for exchange traded options was being developed. As I'm unable to get the moneydance trial to download an option quote - I'm guessing that it was never implemented?

Is this being actively worked on (or am I just missing something )?

    Hi Cameron,
Currently we are able to download fund data on what is provided for free from Yahoo and Google finance in CSV format. We have considered setting up an arrangement with a subscription based company that would provide a more comprehensive list of security prices but there hasn't seemed to be enough user support to justify the additional cost.
That being said you can download a number of ETFs through the Quotes and Exchange Rate extension. What is the ETF that you are hoping to be able to download?
    Sincerely,

    Jon,

Thanks for the response. I think there may be some confusion however, I'm not referring to ETFs - but to stock options that are traded on the various exchanges. I call these "exchange traded options" to differentiate them from incentive stock options, which seem to have plenty of topics as well.

From what I can tell on option prices, the issue is one of the stock quote extension looking for a closing price (which yahoo doesn't have for options).

    Hi Cameron,
I maintain an external quote tool for MsMoney: hleofxquotes that MIGHT be of use for you. The tool has support for "exchange traded options".

    See: http://code.google.com/p/hle-ofx-quotes/

    1. Select the Quote sources: Yahoo Options
    2. Enter a symbol such as CSCO140118C00020000
    3. In the "Prices" tab (bottom), popup menu to save to QIF that hopefully MD can import.

    Best,
