When I enter a bill payment into Moneydance, it connects with my Bank, but tells me the date is too soon (in some cases). It then proposes a later date to make the payment. What is this date based on, and how to I fix this?

    Hi Todd,

What bank are you using? We've been having a number of problems with Bill Pay recently and I'm curious to see if it's the same bank or different ones.

Also, could you paste the errors you're getting here? That may help me troubleshoot your problem.

    Hi Jessica,

I bank with Fifth Third. I have attached a screenshot of the error message.

    Hi Todd,

When you submit an online payment, banks usually say it will take 4-5 days to post. Moneydance errs on the side of caution and expects a six day window to ensure that your payment will post on time. So, if you try to pay a bill within that six day window, you'll get the error message you are getting.

You can this feature off in the Moneydance preferences. In the preferences screen, click on the Network tab. There's a checkbox to turn off the date restrictions towards the bottom of the screen. I've attached a screenshot of the screen for reference.

Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions or problems. Thanks for using Moneydance!
