dropbox sync

Hi
I'm struggling to sync Moneydance via dropbox on my wife's MacBook (iPhone works fine).
I installed dropbox on y wife's mac & the dropbox account is logged in under my account. As can be seen, the money dance sync file is available & thus its syncing ok, but I can't import the backups as they are greyed out. (my dropbox doesn't have this problem as can be seen). So why can't I import the backups and sync correctly?

Especially note this sentence in that link that dwg posted::
"Please ensure that the data files you'd like to share are not already located in any shared folder (like Dropbox, Network Share, etc) before following the steps below."
....which is a big change in MD 2017 from previous versions, and counter-intuitive when you are trying to sync with Dropbox.
This caught me out initially and I suspect many others.
