Problem Connecting To TDBank?
I downloaded the money dance software as im considering a switch from microsoft money. I am unable to connect to my td bank checking account. When i try to connect it gives me an error. Microsoft money is giving me the same error also so im assuming td changed something on their end that maybe needs to be updated in this software?

Hi Mike,
TD Bank is currently upgrading their system. You will be unable to connect to them through Moneydance (or any other personal finance software) until after September 29th. Once their upgrade is complete, we will update our database with the new "TD Bank Online Banking" connection. Note that this is different from the current TD Bank connection we have in our database that has a dash in it. You will need you disable your old connection to TD Bank and create a new connection to TD Bank Online Banking.
You can find more information about their upgrade at there website. I'm sorry for the temporary down time. Hopefully the upgrade will go smoothly and you'll be able to connect again soon.

Mike,
I don't think their update is complete yet. But I'm sure it will be. The connection should work properly as soon as it is complete.

I'm still having problems with my TD Bank account. Spent almost 3 hours last night in the branch removing incorrect fees and my paycheck has yet to be deposited so I'm not sure what's going to happen with my automatic deposits. TD Banks 800 numbers aren't working so I can't even get in touch with customer service. Oh did I mention they changed my banks hours, so now they close earlier. Looks like TD is not holding up to the Commerce name. Also looks like it's time to find another bank.

I called a branch yesterday and was told it would be back up by the end of that day.... but NOPE!!! I call today and was given "in 30 minutes"... I wish they would just be honest and say we just dont know.... and the fact the neither of the phone numbers works shows that they could care less about fielding customer calls... yes it is time to find a new bank!!!

At this point Quicken is connnecting ok again but MoneyDance still gets the error:java.net.unknownhostexception:ofx.tdbank.com. TD handles this terribly!

I'm getting this error message when I try a new connection to TD Bank.
Error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: Untrusted Server Certificate Chain
Any Ideas?

Same issue here. Program work great until they started the upgrade. Now it can not connect to the bank or download. Hey Money dance support, any ideas of fixes at this point?
10 Posted by Jessica Little on 03 Oct, 2009 01:04 PM
Hi everyone,
For everyone getting the SSLHandshake error: This is due to a bug in Moneydance that has been fixed in our preview release. If you are not using the most recent preview version (2008r4 Build 643), please update to that version. You can download the update from our website.
Everyone: If you haven't already, be sure the disable your connection to TD Bank and re-create it with the "TD Bank Online Banking" Connection option. We've gotten successful connection reports from other users, so we know the upgrade is complete at this point and should work.
Please let me know if you continue to have connection problems.

Sorry Jessica, but I can only find build 640 on your web site. Where
is 643 hiding?

Well I tried again to setup online banking with TD Bank and got as far as inputting my user ID and PIN. I then got this error:
There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.
The error code reported by the server was: 2000
The user cannot signon because of invalid user ID or password, or host is unavailable.
I immediately logged in to TD bank via my web browser and input the exact same user name and PIN and was successful getting onto their web site. I also earlier did the same with Quicken (which I hate with a passion!) and was successful. I must be doing something wrong with the Moneydance setup, but can't figure out what that might be.

Well, I feel a bit embarrassed, but the third time I tried the bank accepted the login. Did I mistype the first 2 times? Anyway it seems I am connected and was successful downloading transactions for at least the first of my checking accounts. On to the others!

This still isn't working for me.
I'm using MoneyDance 2008r4(640), and I was previously set up to use "TD Bank - Online Banking".
My attempts to connect result in "HTTP Error: 404 Not Found"
It's the same error that I've been experience since TD Bank started their entire upgrade process.
Thoughts?

Nevermind. upgrading to 643 fixed the bug. Thank you!
