Can you tell me which version you updated from, it would help the developers in solving this bug.

If that's true what do I need to do to get the fix to the problem?

jcf_m_liststag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/426004392018-07-30T23:28:21Z2018-07-30T23:28:21ZcalPastEventBG appears not to work in MD 2017

Not resolved. Please re-open the ticket. I set the past Event background to a light red but it still shows up as the green cal event background. See attached for 3 days on the calendar, yesterday, today and tomorrow with 2 events. BOTH are green.

That means I will have to upgrade to 2019 to get the fix then.
Wounder how much that will cost me...... sigh......

Thanks for the update.

jcf_m_liststag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/426004392018-09-15T22:28:27Z2018-09-15T22:28:27ZcalPastEventBG appears not to work in MD 2017

Assuming you bought an earlier version than 2017 it will be half price. I figure that paying $25 every other year for the software is not a huge cost, about $1/month.
So do I get a free upgrade then?
If so I may do it but if not I will skip it since MD does everything I need. This bug fix is a like to have not critical.

jcf_m_liststag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/426004392018-09-18T05:08:54Z2018-09-18T05:08:54ZcalPastEventBG appears not to work in MD 2017

Whether you get a free upgrade depends not on the version you are running but the last version you actually purchased. So if you purchased MD 2017 then you should get a free upgrade when the next new major version is released, if you purchased MD 2015 or earlier then you would need to purchase an upgrade.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/426004392018-09-21T01:18:50Z2018-09-21T01:18:50ZcalPastEventBG appears not to work in MD 2017

I purchased my 2017 version in May of 2017 for $25. My previous version was 2011 so I think I that means I can get a free upgrade to 2019. Doe that sound right?

jcf_m_liststag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/426004392018-09-21T03:56:33Z2018-09-21T03:56:33ZcalPastEventBG appears not to work in MD 2017

There has been some discussion amongst some users on the ins and outs of the upgrade policy, we did not reach a consensus and IK did not provide a response.

My personal opinion is that you pay the initial fee and receive a free upgrade to the next major release, to go any further required an upgrade. But I am also of the opinion that if you buy an upgrade you then receive a free upgrade the next major release after the version you upgrade to. Hence I think you basically pay a fee for every second version assuming you keep current at all times.

Can support provide a definitive answer please?

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/426004392018-09-21T13:16:50Z2018-09-21T13:16:50ZcalPastEventBG appears not to work in MD 2017

@jcf, my interpretation is no. Since you did not pay full price for the upgrade in May of 2017 you don't get a free upgrade.

If you buy a full price version, you will get a free upgrade for the next major version. So you would get a free upgrade from 2011 to 2012 and paid half price to update to a later version (ie 2017). As before, you would have gotten half price upgrades to 2013, 2014, 2015 as well if you had so desired.

So I disagree with Des that you don't get every other upgrade for free but only after a full price purchase.

Personal philosophy: writing and supporting software takes time and effort. People should not be asked to work for free. A $25 USD cost for something that I use at least weekly at $0.50 USD a week is not unreasonable. Asking for lifetime free support and upgrades is somewhat unreasonable. Slavery has been abolished in most countries! :-)

Note: that a license is for an entire household at that price. This is a pretty good deal.

sthtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/426004392018-09-21T20:56:30Z2018-09-21T20:56:30ZcalPastEventBG appears not to work in MD 2017

There you have the two views that was arrived at :)
