Linux, printing w/ Java
I have tested my printer in office, and it prints fine. When I open my reminders to it does nothing. Java 6 is installed and functioning to my knowledge. Any other reason it does not print??

Hi Rob
What distribution and version of Linux are you using? Also specifically which version of Java 6 are you using? Click Help->"About Moneydance" to find this out.
It is not clear to me what you mean when you say when you say "When I open my reminders to it does nothing." Are you refering to when you Select "Reminders..." from the Tools menu. Does that not bring up the reminders calender window. Or are you refering to clicking on the "Print calender" in the reminders window. PLease be as specific as you can.
I am sure we will get printing going for you. I use ubuntu on my primary work computer and its been my experience that it sometimes takes a bit of tweaking to get printing working in linux.
I look forward to your response.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer

Hey Ben,
Distro = Linux Mint 7
Java Platform = 1.6.0_07
Issue: Upon opening Moneydance, and clicking on reminders to show the
calendar, I then click on <Print Calendar> and nothing happens. It does
not matter what Java Version I use in printer settings within MD.
I used GIMP to screen-shot it and print it that way, but I'd prefer to
use it from MD. I hope this provided enough info, if not please let me
know. Thank you for your assistance.
Kind Regards,
Rob L.

Hi Rob
Is this isolate to the reminders print function or is it through out? i.e. If you click on the graphs and reports icon and generate a report, are you able to print the report?
Sincerely
Ben Spencer

Hi Rob
I am sorry I haven't responded sooner.
I suspect this is a bug in the version of java you are using. I ran into a similar problem runing ubuntu 8.04. Please try upgrading to a more recent version of Java. I recommend the latest java from sun. They are currently up to 1.6.0_16.
Sincerely

Hi Rob
It is possible that there is more than one version of java installed on your machine. To check which version Moneydance is using run Moneydance and select About Moneydance from the help menu. If the resulting window does not show that you are using the _17 version shut down moneydance and go in to the moneydance directory and rename the folder called "jre" to "jre.old". Then restart Moneydance and see if that helps.

Ben Spencer
