editing categories

I mistakenly assigned an income source as an expense category. I don't seem to be able to find any way to edit this so it shows as "income." I've highlighted it in the list of categories and hit "edit," and a new smaller window appears containing the category, but the two checkboxes for income and/or expense are not there. I've looked for help within the application and can't find a way to do this. Please help me with this. Thank you.

You can only define whether a category is an Income or an Expense one when it is created, it could potential cause problems to redefine the type once it has transactions in it.
It will be necessary to define a new category of the right type move any existing transactions to the new category, you can use batch change if there are a lot of transactions. and then delete the incorrectly defined category.
