MY BANK HAS DISCONTINUED OFX AND OFC FILE FORMATS AND ONLY OFFERS TAB DELIMINATED AND CSV NOW
My Bank "Raiffeisenbank" has discontinued the OFC file format
and only offers CSV and Tab Deliminated now, both of which can not
be imported into Moneydance. Needless to say that this presents a
significant problem as I can not possibly create each transaction
manually.
Does Moneydance have any solution or fix for this?

Hi hfeurstein
There are two extensions that can import CSV files into Moneydance. (excluding Investment accounts)
One is the Text File Importer (TFI), the other is the MDCSV importer.
You can download the MDCSV importer from here:
http://code.google.com/p/mdcsvimporter/
The TFI requires that the Payment & Deposit columns of the CSV be combined into one column. This can be easily done in a spreadsheet.
If you run into any trouble with either of these extensions, post a copy of your .CSV file and I'll try to help with it. Make sure that there is no personal information in your .CSV file before posting it, (These are public forums)

Why can't you create transactions manually on the day that the transactions are performed?
I do that with each and every purchase I make.
I also do that with each and every manual deposit I make.

I am sorry to hear that your bank has decided to do this.
To add to Kevin's suggestion, we also have instructions on how to import CSV files using the text file importer extension at this link to our knowledge base. You will almost certainly have to open the file in a spreadsheet program to see how the column are arranged, and potentially add or delete data. You will need to do this every time you download a CSV file, but hopefully once you figure it out you will know the steps to take in the future.

I have tried this multiple times. I downloaded the most recent extension. All I get when I try to import the file is "Unsupported CSV file format". There is no way to try to align the columns. The basic file looks fine in Excel. It's only five columns.

Hi cwdavis,
Try using the Text File Importer [TFI] extention.
I've attached a copy of your .CSV file with the Amount columns combined. This is a requirement of the TFI.
Combining the Amount columns can be easily done in a spreadsheet with a simple formula.
To do so, open your original .CSV file in a spreadsheet. In Cell 'F2' enter the following formula:
=(D2-E2)
Drag the formula down column 'F' as far as necessary. Save the file.
Open Moneydance, Install and / or open the TFI.
Set the parameter as follows:
First Form
'Browse' export_1_.csv
Encoding: UTF-8
Second Form
Account: User Defined
Fields Delimiter: [ , ]
Date Format: MDY
Decimal Point: .
Third Form
Field 1: Date
Field 2: Check Number
Field 3: Description
Field 4: Ignore
Field 5: Ignore
Field 6: Amount
Click the 'Less Fields' button to remove any excess fields.
Click the 'Finish' button.

Hi,
mdcsvimporter will work. I had been without a laptop for some months and was busy and finally got a new one. I made some updates also by the way. You can get the newest version here (15.7.7)
http://code.google.com/p/mdcsvimporter/downloads/list
unzip the file.
click 'Extension' -> 'Manage Extensions' -> 'Add from file' and pick the unzipped file.
attached are screenshots showing you a reader config that works for you, and showing that it imports successfully. It is wordpad .rtf format.
