introducing further old data into stock history graph

Some of my graphs of stock histories are based on small data sets. to improve this I have added data to the stock history data set. However, quite often this newly introduced data is not or not fully reflected in the stock history graph. Some graphs also have spurious data points of unknown origin. Often when I delete these spurious points from the stock history data table they remain on the graph. How do I overcome these problems? I have noticed that often after entering new data points, closing the history table then reopening the table the new data sets are duplicated. When this happens I remove the duplicated data points.
