Investment vs Checking

I added our Joint checking account from Schwab and listed it as an investment. I should have listed it as a Bank as it is a checking account. How do I change this designation?

Barbara,
I don't think you can change the type of account once it has been created. The information in the account does not always map to a changed account consistently so in many cases it would not know how to change things such as buy and sell transactions.
The best I can think of is to save the data to an HTML data in a report. then export the data as a qif file. Then delete the investment account and create a bank account of the same name. Then import the qif file. Use the HTML saved report as a check the the data imported correctly.
