Connecting to Online Banks
I am having trouble connecting to my Wells Fargo Checking Account. The message says my password and/or PIN are not valid and to contact my financial institution. I know I am inputing the correct User ID and Password that I use when I log in to my checking account. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Michael,
Most financial institutions will require you to enable your accounts for application-based online banking. If you have Wells Fargo set up your account as if you were using Quicken 2008 for Windows then it should also work with Moneydance since they use the same protocol. This is sometimes necessary as many banks don't yet recognize Moneydance or know how to deal with it. Keep in mind that application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if you continue to have connection problems.

wking1943,
I'm unclear on what you mean with your post. If you are having trouble connecting to your bank, could you start a new discussion with a detailed description of the problems you are experiencing? That will help us be able to troubleshoot and figure out what's going on.

You have a post from someone having the same problem signing into SunTrust. I'm having the same problem as Michael above when I attempt to sign into CapitalOne. I get the same error message, yet I have no problem signing in when I go directly to the site.

viking1943,
Are you trying to sign into a CapitalOne credit card or bank account? CapOne credit cards don't support OFX connections, so if you try to connect using your CC information, you'll get error messages. If it's CapOne bank, please make sure you're enabled direct connection support with them.
