Sorry, the password doesn't match
Good Day, I am trying to set up syncing on a new computer w/ Windows 10 to an iPhone 6s. After installing the Mobile MD, and dropbox on IPhone, going to the Synch Settings (Options), entering the password used on MD desktop, I am receiving the error noted in the title of the discussion. Dropbox is installed on desktop, .mdsync is in Dropbox folder. I have tried a few other options, reinstalls, password changes to insure accuracy, but to not avail. In the error .txt file, I find the following Error receiving and/or processing incoming txns: java.io.IOException: javax.crypto.BadPaddingException: Given final block not properly padded syncing with Dropbox Folder: C:\Users\Derek Larkin.DESKTOP-D31JE0V\Dropbox\.moneydancesync\xxxxxxxx. I am writing to determine a means to resolve issue. Thank you.

I am not support staff, just a user.
What version/build of moneydance are you running. See under HELP – ABOUT MONEYDANCE. For example I am running 2017.5(1639).
Assuming it is 2017.5(1639) then.
From you description it's possible you are not using the correct syncing method, see http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/syncing-and-sharing-data/syncing-wi...
Or is it possible you are trying to sync using your moneydance password rather than your syncing password that appears under FILE – SYNCING – SHOW PASSPHASE?
Hope this helps.

Hi Thank you for the response. After review, there is a password in the Money Dance - File - Synching - Show Passphrase field. On my IPhone, after entering the same password, the "Sorry, the password does not match" error message is generated. I have MD ver. 15. I have attempted to review user guides 17 & 15 and I am not able to resolve the issue.

Issue resolved. I found that I could upgrade from 15 to 17. After going through the Synching process again, the issue resolved itself. Awesome. Thank you.
