I have 2 people each with their own logon to my system (Linux). Every time someone saves it resets the permissions to the default of a newly created file. This means that everytime someone saves I have to go in and reset the permissions so the other person can access it!

    Hello

I need a little more information to better understand your situation. Can you tell me if the two user accounts part of the same group? Is the file stored locally or are you connecting to a remote server using samba or some other protocol? What distribution and version number of Linux are you using?

    Sincerely Ben Spencer
