Category/Account Confusion
I imported QIF from Windows Quicken 2009.
Overall, my accounts appear as they should and when I use Tools to edit Categories everything appears okay overall. There were some issues which I want to resolve. So I chose a Category and selected Open in New Window. The title bar reflects the category I chose but then there is a column labeled Category Tags and it shows the account for the transaction. Is the column labeled wrong?
I assumed that the column was mislabeled and attempted to perform a Batch Change for Account and it gave me choices for Category. Then I decided to change the Category using the Batch Change and it gave me a list of Accounts.
What's up?

First of all, you're reading the column headings wrong. There is not a single column heading called "Category Tags." The register is a two-line register, so in that particular column, the field in the first line is "Category" and the field in the second line is "Tags." They are separate fields.
So what you're seeing is a mini-register of all transactions for a particular category (for example, "Dining"). Because all the transactions are from the "Dining" category (which is really just an expense account), the category field is being populated with the "other side" of the transaction, i.e., the account from which the funds came. Categories and Accounts are really the same thing (it's the whole "double-entry" system).
