Printing in a font size that is readable.
Gentlemen/Ladies:
I have gone to Monydance preferences and selected the font and size
of the font that I want but when I print out a income&Expenses
report the print is so small that I can hardly see it. I have
chosen Monaco 12. Also, the report shows only the income and none
of the expenses. Help!!! Please.

My problem is not printing checks, but printing the transactions.

The problem that I have is explained above. It concerns printing transactions and of course, why don't the expenses show on the income/expense sheet?

I really just need an answer to my first message which is at the top of this page. Is there someone I can call and speak with that can explain to me why I can't get a larger print on the printing of the transactions and why aren't the expenses on the income/expense sheet?

Where do I go from here? Will you send me information by email?

it seems that this is a one way discussion so the only thing I know to do is close the discussion. Please send me an email if you can help me.

Anita
This is not a live chat, it is a forum. Typical response times are 24hours.
Could you attach a screen shot for the report options your have set.
Sincerely

Ben:
I apologize but I've never done this before.
Here is a screen shot showing that in preferences I asked for Monaco 10. On the 2nd screen shot it shows the income/expense page but as you can see there are not expenses listed and there were some expenses.
I scanned a printed page of the income/expense page so you can see it.
THank you for answering and hopefully you can help me figure this out.

When you are looking a the generated report can you click the "edit" button and show me the report options used to generate the report.

I'm sorry, but as I said this correspondence with you is a new experience. How do I find the generate report? And which *edit" button. Should I continue correspondence with you by email or on this site?

Hi Anita,
From the side bar, click on the Income and Expenses Report.
The 'Edit' button is towards the upper right-hand corner, along the top of the report. Next to 'Print', 'Save', 'Memorize' and 'Copy to Clipboard'.

Ben:
THank you. I did click income/expense and then edit and saw that the expenses button had not been checked. I have checked it and now the expenses do show on the report.
THe only problem left is getting the report to print in the font I have chosen. It's not so much that I'm in love with the font, but as you can see from the scan of the printout that I sent you, the printing is so small, even with a magnifying glass it is difficult to read. I can't seem to get the message about the font through to the program. I've even looked at it on a PDF preview and it is still the same..almost unreadable. If we can get that one straight, I promise, I won't bother you anymore.
I wait to hear from you.

Hi Anita,
The next course of action in troubleshooting this issue would be for you to provide the following information to the MD Support Staff:
Moneydance version
Operating System
Version of Java
You can glean this information from the first few lines of text in the Console Window listed under Moneydance's Help menu.
While the Console Window is open, click on the Income and Expenses Report and try Printing it.
Copy and paste the output of the Console Window into your next post.
It may also help to provide the make and model of your printer.
In the meantime, have you tried changing the font size to some higher number? Give it a try even if the number seems ridiculously high.

Hi Anita,
We've had reports of printing issues that haven't yet yielded clear results. Currently I think that the font when displayed on the screen may be larger than what results in the print out. Could you try selecting a larger font size (maybe 16, based on your scan) and see if it prints out larger? If this doesn't work, could you try selecting a different font and perhaps again a larger font size and see if that works?

Kevin, Ben & Scott:
Thank you again. I moved the size of the printing from 12 to 16 and it did print larger. 18 is even better.
Since you say you have been having printing problems I will give you the info you asked for and maybe it will help you in trying to work out a solution to the printing problem.
I have: Moneydance 2011r2 (803)
My computer is Mac OSX/Version 10.7.4 (Lion)
Version of Java: Java Version 1.6.0_31/Java Vendor, Apple Inc.
My printer is Brother MFC-250C
Hope this helps you, and again, thank you.

Hi Anita,
Thanks for the information! We'll continue to try and look into this problem and, in the meantime, I'm glad that increasing the font size makes the printouts legible.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!
