Now my bank does not support direct import of statements into MS Money, now is the time to change, especially as I need a cross platform program (I am a VERY new user to linux using Fedora 11). I download the program and then extract it to get the Moneydance folder. When I click on the icon an image browser opens with the icon in it. That is as far as it goes. Being a very new linux user I am prepared to admit I may have got it wrong but I can't think what else to try.

    Hi Keith

Specifically which file did you download?

I strongly recommend installing the latest java runtime environment (JRE) from sun. Here is a link to an article describing how to do that on Fedora 11:

    http://www.cahilig.org/how-install-sun-java-runtime-environment-jre...

As a new to linux user you might want to try a distribution that is a bit less technical than fedora. I have been running ubuntu for a number of years and a am very happy with it.

In the Moneydance folder there should be a script that is used to run the application. The name of the script file is "Moneydance" without the quotes. Try clicking on that' instead of the icon file.

    Sincerely

Many thanks. That was one file that I didn't try. All working now. I have already installed it on my notebook in Windows and I love it. No more Microsoft!
