Import Issues
I imported data into my checking account from a QIF file. All of my transactions are defaulting to the "ATM..." default category, which is fine because I didn't want to use the same categories that I was using in the other program. However, for any imported transaction for which I want to use spit categories, the only category choices I can select from are a small group of categories from the other program, none of which are in my category list in Moneydance. Am I just going to have to delete and renter from scratch any transactions with splits?
Hope this makes sense. Thanks for your help.

Just tried entering a new transaction and was going to split the categories. Even with a new transaction, I can't choose from my current category list. Thought this additional information might be helpful.

Please ignore this post. I resolved my problem by starting all over and reimporting my data. Not sure what happened the first time, but things are now working properly.

Martha,
Wonderful! Usually this issue happens when the "Import from Another Program" box is not checked- it causes the category data to be ignored by the program. I'm glad it's working for you now, but if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.
