After Network Sync update on Desktop, iOS version is blank

I saw a comment that to be prepared for the new iOS version coming with DropBox support one should make sure they have the latest version of the Network Sync extension on the desktop. I updated it, and started seeing some weirdness on my iPhone.

After my first sync the 'Home' page in the iOS app was blank, see example attached. I thought it weird, forced the app closed in the multitasking list, and then it was fine. That was a couple of days ago.

This morning I launched the iOS app while away from my network and it is blank again, and attempting to force quit it in multitasking doesn't help. I'll try another sync when I get home tonight after work, but for now the iOS app is non-functional. In addition to being blank, hitting the add button causes the app to crash (drops me back at the phone's home screen). I also fully turned off the phone and started it back up and that didn't resolve the issue.

Another sign that it is weird is usually on launching the iOS app there is a spinning icon for about 1 - 2 seconds while the 'home' screen loads, that animation is much shorter when the screen comes up blank.

I don't know if it is relevant, but upon the first sync when this started the last new entry on the iOS version appeared twice in the desktop version after sync.

Any ideas?

    Hi Shawn,

I would suggest trying to reinstall the iOS app and see if that fixes the issue.

As well, the new version of our iOS app has been delayed by Apple but should hopefully come out soon and enable Dropbox syncing and fix a number of issues.

If reinstalling doesn't fix it, please let us know and we'll continue to diagnose the issue!

    Hello Scott,

Deleting and re-installing the app didn't change anything.

On a whim I remember I had enabled Drobbox sync on the desktop in preparation, so I tried disabling that also, but it also didn't help.

Basically it appears that on every second to third sync the iOS app will go back to normal, then a sync or two later it goes blank again. Switching some things (deleting the app, disabling dropbox) seems to make it go 4 or 5 syncs before it disappears again, but then the behavior returns.

I'm not sure if yesterday I just had bad luck with it being blank when I left the house so it had no way to go normal again. Today I've made sure it was normal and won't launch it again before I leave the house to see if it stays that way the rest of the day.

UPDATE: I realized after typing that that I had not yet tried quitting and restarting the desktop app. I did that and so far it appears everything is normal. I have synced between 6 and 10 times and the iOS app has not blanked out yet.

If it gets weird again I'll add to this topic.

    Thanks!
