I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 with a fresh install. I want to get Moneydance working.

I've followed the instructions on installing java, downloading and installing the deb, and have copied the icon to the launcher.

When I double click the icon, nothing seems to happen.

If i navigate to /opt/Moneydance and enter ./moneydance, nothing seems to happen.

How do I get moneydance to launch?

I set up Moneydance with Ubuntu 12.04. You need to follow the directions in this link to the letter. It works! I should know, I wrote it.

That worked. I had downloaded the with java deb, not the no-java deb.

Moneydance should change the original download page so that folks with ubuntu 12.03 do not download the incorrect version, then fail to get it to work, then have to find the support page, and then have to figure out that the original download is not going to work.
