Crash on Fedora when right-clicking a transaction

The description says it all - I get a transaction, would like to batch change its account, and instead get a crash with SIGABRT (signal 6). This is on Fedora 16 running KDE. It is also 100% reproducible in my setup, so I have no way of changing transactions for my investment account...

    Hi Mike,

Do you have an /opt/Moneydance/jre folder? If so, try renaming it to something else, like jre-old.

    Nope, I don't have a folder /opt/Moneydance/jre - any other suggestions?

    Hi Mike,

Could you run Moneydance from a terminal and paste the output from the crash here?

    Hi Mike,

I think this may be coming from the OpenJDK JRE. Can you try installing the Sun/Oracle version of Java and see if it still crashes? Please let us know if you need directions for doing this.

I can sort out the install, but which version do you want me to try? I see "Java SE 7u5" and "Java SE 6 Update 33" available. I'd prefer to only try one of them...

    Hi Mike,

Java 7 (SE 7u5) should work fine and hopefully eliminate the crash. Do be sure to back up your .md data file just in case there are any major issues. And, if Fedora's package manager isn't removing the OpenJDK install, you may have to switch which java it's using.

    Hi Mike,

Sorry for the delay--most of our support staff is located in Virginia and has suffered from the recent power outages.

What GTK theme are you using? It looks like the crash is coming from that, so I'm wondering if you're using the gtk-qt GTK engine and/or whether changing GTK or QT styles stops the crash.

I was using the GTK+ theme - switched to Metal look and feel, and the menu pops up without crashing. Thanks!
