I guess, I was not clear. The payee name does not appear in the address block. I am not having a problem with calibrating checks. perhaps I should have said addressees' name is not appearing in the address block, even though it appears in the address book. I think the post office requires a name be included in the address. Even if they don't, I want the addressee name to print, in the address block, on my checks.
Thanks,
Mike Hart

    Hi Mike

Thank you for clarifying. I have created a suggestion ticket for this feature and attached it to this case. By posting in this case you have effectively voted for the ticket.

Please add another request for the ability to print the addressee's name in the address block. Apparently 18 months was not enough time to get this feature added.

I think I've got an obvious solution. I'm going to try adding the payee name as the first line in the address field and changing the y-value at which the address prints to make room for the added line.

    Dave,

That's actually a fantastic work-around, I'm embarrassed we didn't suggest it to you! I'd love to hear how it works out for you, as we'll add it to our list of suggested tweaks to the program.

I'll also keep the suggestion ticket open, as this is clearly not a perfect solution.

I've just tried printing a check set up this way, and it works quite well. Perhaps all you need to do is add a sentence to the instruction manual so that users know what will print by default and how to add the payee name to the address field.

    Dave,

Good suggestion, and I'll add it into the currently in progress user guide update.

I think the name should appear, in the first line of the address, automatically. Afterall... the Address Book stores addresses based on names. Entering it, manually, is what is the current problem is. It's an unecessary hassle.

True enough. But sometimes one wants to make a check payable to an organization like Komen Race for the Cure, but mail it to a friend. As you probably know, Quicken handled this by having the user type a single quote if he/she wanted to have the payee name appear as the first line of the address field.

Whichever way you decide to deal with this, it's always a good idea to document it in the user guide. That would make the program easier to use.

    Best regards,
