Entering known Payees into new accounts

When entering known Payees into a new account Moneydance does not recognise them at the first entry into the new account though the Payee has been used before in another account. In other words there is no auto-completion for the entry of any given Payee.
This creates the possibility for variations in spelling and potentially compromises the validity of any searches conducted for the named Payee. My experience with similar software is that known [that is, previously entered] Payees are available to any new account.
Perhaps I am not doing something incorrectly though it is not obvious to me.

    Hi Angie,

Thank you for you prompt response and advice.
I did do a search for "Payee" but obviously not in the right place.
I have had a closer look at the system and it appears to be quite impressive.
I also acknowledge your advice re Categories and subcategories.

    Regards,
    Harry Austin
