Moneydance freezes a few secs on MAC OS 10.5.6
MoneyDance 2008r3 (631) Java Version: 1.5.0_16 Java Vendor: Apple Inc.
While in progress of encoding transactions MD freezes for a few secs (10 to 30secs), - while frozen I can still use other windows/spaces and applications - CPU and memory is stable - After switching back to MD, it goes back into the Home and is accessible again
Any fix?

Hi Dominic I am not clear on what you mean by "encoding transactions". Are you referring to the encryption process of saving files? What exactly are you doing that is causing this behavior? Sincerely Ben Spencer

Hello Ben
Thank you for the response
I could not identify which exactly triggers the freeze, but these are some things I am doing before the freeze occurs (the MD app don't seem to respond to mouse clicks or keyboard enter, but mouse is free roaming and can switch/use other applications)
Bank accounts - entering/editing New and existing line items/transactions (e.g. change date, category, payment rate, deposit) Budget Manager - Editing existing budget (e.g. amount, category)
regards Dominic

Hi Dominic
The only situation I can think of that causes this type of freeze is when the "Exchange Rate Downloader" extension is downloading the current exchange rates from yahoos finance service. Do you have the "Exchange Rate Downloader" extension installed? If you also have the "Stocks / FOREX quotes auto Synchronizer" installed this could be automatically invoking the Exchange rate Downloader and causing the freeze you are talking about. If this is the case it is not that the application has crashed rather it is busy.
Sincerely Ben Spencer
