Bank transactions download but don't appear.
I downloaded some transactions from my checking account at Chase into the corresponding account on Moneydance 2011. However the transactions do not appear in the Moneydance window. The bottom bar says "214 unconfirmed transactions" (there were zero before). All my old transactions show up, but none of the new ones. When I select "unconfirmed" the window is blank. The blue dot appeared next to the account name and balance in the left column. I tried the download twice, using QIF and QFX files. Why can't I see the transactions?

Hi Michael,
Grab the header of the message bar at the bottom of the register that claims you have 214 Unconfirmed Transactions and move it up to reveal the txns.
Or, click on the 'Split Window' button in the upper right-hand corner of the Moneydance window next to the 'New Transaction' button. This will add the 'blue dot' txns into the existing txns in the register.
One issue that may have occurred is that you may have created duplicate txns by importing the .QIF file.

Thank you. This was the first download I have done from my bank. Previous transactions were downloaded from Quicken files. Is there a preference to use QIF or QFX format for downloading from the bank?

Hi harwoodmd,
QFX and OFX files contain unique identifiers to help prevent duplicate txns. .QIF files do not.
When ever possible try to use either QFX or OFX.
