Moneydance locks up
I have been using moneydance on a mac book pro for over a year.
It has been working fine. Just a few days ago, when I ask to
download transactions the blue spinning wheel shows up and nothing
happens. The program freezes and I have to force quit.
Does anyone have experience with this problem and have steps to
resolve the issue.

I'm afraid that my MD has just started to do this today on my Windows 7 system.
First, I added a single transaction to one account and this worked OK. I then tried to add another transaction to a different account, whereupon the software appeared to just freeze. In the end, I had to kill off the program with Task Manager.
I then restarted MD. Added the first transaction successfully, then saved my file. But when I tried to add the second transaction, the software froze again and I had to kill it off again.
I hope this helps. If anyone at MD requires further information, please get in touch.

Just a postscript to my previous post. The problem appeared to resolve itself after I rebooted the PC.
It may have no bearing, but I also reduced the amount of text that I'd entered in the transactions' memo field.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the update on your experience of this crash. I'm curious: if you go back to entering a lot of text in the memo field, does the problem return? It would be good to know if this is causing crashes so we can fix the bug.
Barry,
Are you still experiencing problems? Does Steve's resolution help you in any way?

Jessica - I've tried entering transactions with a lot of text - some with more than 300 characters - and with no repetition of the problem. Perhaps my problem was more to do with Windows than MD.
