Duplicate currency IDs
I have managed to set up my base currency twice, giving it
different names but the same 3-letter currency ID. Resulting in
having duplicate entries as far as ID goes. Subsequently, I also
have set up different accounts and categories using the two
alternately.
I only noticed this mistake after creating all my categories and
accounts and entering a huge amount of transactions.
- Is duplicate currency IDs an actual problem or just a visible annoyance?
- If I export all transactions, recreate accounts and categories in a new file and then import, will that fix it? I've noticed the export has a currency-denotation by ID, not currency name.
- or is there an easier way to fix it?

1) Its not a major problem. The only issue I can think of is that i you enter a transfer between two accounts that are using the same name for a currency which is actually adifferent currency you will have to enter an exchange rate on the transaction. That exchange rate would need to be 1:1
2) If you export to a QIF all currency information will be lost as QIF files do not support multiple currencies. You could then import the QIF into a new file and everyting will be in the same currency.
3) I am afraid there is no easy solution.
