CSV import switches amounts
I'm importing a CVS file for a credit card account. I'm using the Text File Importer. The text file has payment amounts in parenthesis; charge amounts have no symbol. When the transactions are imported, the payments show in the charge column and charges in the payment column. What's the work-around? Thanks.

Hi Jim,
Unfortunately, there is no easy fix due to limitations and variations in the CSV file format. A better solution than changing the transactions once they're imported could be to do a search and replace in the CSV file. Using a spreadsheet application or a text editor with a Search and Replace function, you could search for ( and replace it with - and search for ) and replace it with nothing. i think this should produce the desired results.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

Hi Jim,
Try using the CSV Importer instead of the Text File Importer.
Once the CSV Importer is installed, click 'Import File' from the 'Extensions' menu.
When the CSV Importer opens, click 'Maintain Custom File Readers'
Set up the Custom Reader per the attached screenshot.
Click 'Add' 'Save' and 'Done'
Back at the CSV Importer main form.
Click the Browse (...) button and navigate to your .CSV file (or .TXT)
Select your CC account to import the data into.
For my test, I used 'Online' as the 'Import Transactions as:' option.
