Just recently my copy of moneydance has stopped allowing me to do a category split. When I hit the split button the program freezes. It then eventually displays the error box with the following:

Error reading file: java.util.ConcurrentModificationExc

I click ok and the error box goes away but I still cannot do a split:

Do I need to do a reinstall? It looks like a file is missing

I am not support staff, just a user.

Backup your data set in case something goes wrong. then try a reinstall.

For further help provide your Moneydance version and build, see under HELP - ABOUT MONEYDANCE. e.g. 2017.7.1(1671)
Also what operating system is your computer running?

    Hope this helps.

Again, make sure you do a FILE - EXPORT BACKUP.

A couple of things to try.
Under EXTENSIONS – MANAGE EXTENSIONS remove all extensions.
With moneydance shut down rename your configuration file config.dict to say config.dict_old
    Look in C:/Users/user_name/.moneydance
    Start Moneydance.
if Moneydance freezes, with Moneydance shut down post the errlog.txt found at C:/Users/user_name/.moneydance
Detail exactly what you were doing when the program froze.

I have the same problem on my MAC. There seem to be other threads referring to the alt-spacebar-M solution, but I don't what the equiv OS X solution might be??

For the Mac OS, if the window for Edit Splits is off screen the "show all application windows" should work. This is normally bound to the control-down arrow key but could be remapped in the System Preferences->Keyboard (Short cuts tab, and look at the "Mission Control" application).

Thanks for your help, I did get it to work by uninstalling and reinstalling then using alt-spacebar to get the move command and moved the split window back onto the screen.

    Thanks again
