After an update I cannot see my accounts and transactions

    Apparently Moneydance is not allowing us to use it! They are holding our transactions hostage until we pay them more. I have already purchased this app and have been using it for several years. Today, it comes up as missing and wants me to buy it. I finally found my accounts and transactions, but I am locked out and told I have to purchase Moneydance to be able to use this app and add to my transactions. Why am I not able to use an app I have already purchased? I haven't updated it in any way and was just using it yesterday.

    This doesn't seem like most folks experience. @Julie, did you update MD or your OS recently? What version of MD? What version of what OS? When you purchase MD you get the current version and the next major version for free. Versions after that are half cost. This seems a reasonable pricing scheme in today's market. Major versions have a year number, such as 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017. You can reload older versions of MD on the downloads page.

    (From Kevin N.) By any chance, is there a header bar in the register with text on it indicating that you have a certain number of unconfirmed transactions? It may also indicate that you have 0 unconfirmed transactions. (see screenshot)
    If so, click the split window icon to the right of the 'New Transaction' button in the upper right-hand corner of the register.
    Doing so will toggle off the split window and hopefully reveal the hidden transactions.

    I'm a fellow user.

    I assume you purchased Moneydance directly via this website, when you do so you will receive an email from BMT Micro that contains a license key that you enter into Moneydance to remove the 100 transaction trial limit.

    If at a later date Moneydance complains about reaching the transaction limit it generally means something has gone wrong with the file that holds the license key (config.dict which is stored in the .moneydance folder under your login directory). simply re-entering the license key should again remove the transaction limit and allow you to proceed.

    Just to add if you have lost your key provided you know the email address you used to purchase you can use the lost key box at

    Hope this helps
