This makes the text on the buttons in the Preferences dialog un-readable. Also, the Window drop-down in the menu-bar is illegible too as well as the text in other dialogs such as Advanced Search. There are probably other dialogs & buttons that don't work with white text.

Jimtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/458456532018-08-26T17:09:47Z2018-08-26T17:09:47ZCannot change the background color of dialog & buttons

I have changed the theme back to various "canned" settings "Solarized Dark", "High Contrast", etc. However, the menu items File, Edit, etc. are still illegible. So, it looks like setting back to a "canned" theme does not reset all colors.

Perhaps the menus were not very legible all along and I don't remember.

But, two things:
1) The themes need to work for dialogs, menu, etc. items as well as the workspace panes.

2) There needs to be a way to reset all color elements back to defaults.

Jimtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/458456532018-08-26T17:27:27Z2018-08-26T17:27:27ZCannot change the background color of dialog & buttons

Here is a screen shot of my menu drop-down. You can see that the menus are not legible.

How can I fix this contrast issue on the menus?
MD is almost unusable like this.

The defaults seem readable but once you set the text to white all bets are off.

THAT REALLY NEEDS FIXED !!! There should be no way to permanently wreck the font color. There should be a reset mechanism.

The MD developers seem to have a real aversion to simple fundamental colors, white font on gray or black background. Black font on white background. It always has to be some subtle Apple-esque attempt to look cool. It's a ledger. Make it simple and legible. Nothing sexy here.

Jimtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/458456532018-08-26T21:47:02Z2018-08-26T21:47:02ZCannot change the background color of dialog & buttons

As this is theme information I do not think deleting the preferences file will have an effect.

Instead I think removing or renaming the file custom_theme.properties that is in the same folder will have the effect of setting the colour theme back to the default.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/458456532018-08-27T00:01:55Z2018-08-27T00:01:55ZCannot change the background color of dialog & buttons

Yeah. What dwg said! Answered the question too quickly. Time to take a break. The config file has the column widths for reports in it and window size. Just not themes. You are only allowed one custom theme.

The file is called custom_theme.properties

sth
