I am new to Moneydance and am still trying to learn the basics. I have an extremely easy question to ask and I know that the solution is in front of my face but I just can't see it for some reason. I am trying to show a transfer of money between my bank account and my credit card account. I used ms money before and all I had to do was select the transfer option for transaction type. Where is the same option in Moneydance?

Thanks, Chenoa

    Hi Chenoa

This operation is handled a little differently in Moneydance. Transfers between accounts are entered as regular transactions.

To reflect a transfer funds from your bank account to your credit card account: Click on your bank account from the home page. Click the "New Transaction" button at the top of the register. Select Trn as the transaction type. Enter a useful description. Select your credit card account from the drop down list in the Category Tags column. Enter the amount in the Payment box. Press enter to record the transaction.

Right click on the transaction and select "Show Other Side" to see the corisponding transaction in your credit card account.

    Sincerely Ben Spencer
