Which operating system are you using? How are you trying to open MD, short cut, toolbar icon? Is your device partitioned or has multiple user logins?</p>

Also this is now academic as I have restored from backup.</p>
<p>Win 7 64<br>
Money dance is current version. 2017.6 1656<br>
Open md through short cut on task bar<br>
No partition, one user.<br>
Yes I have moved from default location.</p>
<p>However md recognized the actual location asked for password accepted password and the refused to open file "settings". When I navigate to this file I am also refused access in windows.</p>
<p>After short panic and reflection I restored from backup as I set md to backup on exit daily, and problem has not recurred.</p>
<p>Windows update and acronis were running in the background.</p>

Do you have the latest v501 of the MD updater extension? <p>With out seeming the windows prompts when denied access to the file my initial inclination is to think this may have been a permissions issue. If this happens again please let us know It would be helpful to know if you ware accessing or moving your data file on multiple devices.</p>
