likle 100's of U, have used microsoft money 2005 Qfe. and have/had records back to 2012
Could any one suggest why I cannot import the categories with the QIF files, which for me is one of the important,
any mods around?

    Hi Dan,

Failure to import categories is usually due to not selecting 'From Another Program' as the 'File Source' on the 'Import QIF File' form.

Thanks very much, you have shifted my 75 yrold Brain to Overdrive. All
    works great now.
What annoys me is the original money 2005 QFI is still working OK on my
W10, since I 'sort of' recovered from being Hacked.
I shall use Money dance from now on now I know how to import.

    Hi Dan,

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear that it helped. Thank you for reporting back with your results.

I continue to use the Sunset version of MS Money along side of Moneydance. Sort of as a checks and balances. I think that some of the reporting is stronger in MS Money so there's that too.

If you are interested, there is a free program called Pocketsense that allows MS Money users to import transaction data via direct-connect (from those financial institutions that provide such servers). It also imports stock quotes.

It's a little geeky, but the developer provides step-by-step instructions to set it up.

If this is something that you might be interested in, here is a link to the developer's website.
