2010 and pasting a password
I downloaded 2010 and noticed nearly immediately that it won't
let me paste a password into the dialog for downloading
transactions. I normally do command-v to paste my passwords from
keypassX. I notice that the app's drop down menus
(edit/view/online, etc) also vanish when the password dialog is
open.
Not being able to paste is a bit of a problem, as there's no way
I'm keying in my complex passwords all of the time... I'm running
on Mac 10.6.2.

I have this same issue.
You can go to the Moneydance menu bar and select "Paste" as a work around until this is fixed.

If you are not using the most recent version (2010 build 726), please update to that version. You can download the update here. This update has resolved a few key issues our users have been experiencing. Please let me know if your issue persists and we will look into other solutions.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank you for your interest in Moneydance.

I tried 2010 build 726 and have the same problem. When I want to download transactions, the "Online Banking Authentication" dialog comes up. While this dialog is up, the Mac menu bar contains no menus other than Moneydance (there is no File, Edit, View, etc.). Therefore I can't select Edit / Paste in order to paste my password into the password field. Nor does the normal Command-V paste key combination work.
To be clear, I can download transactions, but I'd prefer to copy and paste my passwords rather than type them into the authentication dialog.
I'm running OS X 10.6.2 with Java 1.6.0_17 from Apple.

any update on this - it's a real pain with 15 character random passwords! There's no workaround (the menu is grey).

Is this issue continuing with Moneydance 2010r2 (build 735)? Please let me know so we can appropriately address this issue. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

Yes, when setting up a new online service, there is no edit menu available, so there's no workaround.

I'm a windows XP SP3 user and have the current version of Moneydance installed (downloaded last week to trial) but it is not possible to copy and paste. The only workaround is to go to the MoneyDance Edit menu and choose paste from there but it sure would be far far easier to be able to use the normal keyboard shortcuts of ctrl-v to paste and ctrl-c to copy. Is a fix for this planned?

Upon further copy and paste work in MoneyDance, I found that sometimes ctrl-v does work and other times it does not. I'm not sure what the reason is.

I can confirm that the issue is unchanged with build 735. On the online banking authentication dialog, there is no way to paste a password. On a mac, there is no Edit menu visible, nor does command-v work.

So it seems that cut and paste work in some fields and windows but not others in build 735. We are working to resolve this issue in future builds, and I have directed our developer to this issue. I'm sorry I don't have a more satisfactory resolution at the moment, but we hope to have one in the coming weeks. (I use Moneydance for my own personal finances and have found this frustrating as well, so please know we are working on it as best we can.)
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank you for your interest in Moneydance.
