I humbly must differ with you.</p>
<p>OS X 10.7 does make use of sandbox. I have 10.7.4 installed on
one of my iMac computers.</p>
<p>The release of Moneydance 2012 for OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8,
does, in fact, place everything within
~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX .</p></div>james ftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/191043512012-10-14T15:26:22Z2012-10-14T15:26:22ZUpgraded to 2012, cannot read file "An account set with this name already exists"<div><p>Edward OConnor,<br>
Show Hidden Files on your Mac</p>
<p>Launch the Terminal and enter these commands exactly as shown.
The first command activates the ability to see the hidden files:
You can copy and paste these commands into Terminal:</p>
<p>defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE</p>
<p>Now you must relaunch the Finder by killing it, this is how the
changes take effect:</p>
<p>killall Finder</p>
<p>If you want to hide hidden files again (those preceded with a .)
and go back to the default Mac settings, you can just type the
following:</p>
<p>defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE</p>
<p>Again you will need to kill the Finder so that it can relaunch
for changes to take effect:</p>
<p>killall Finder</p></div>james ftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/191043512012-10-15T18:44:23Z2012-10-15T18:44:23ZUpgraded to 2012, cannot read file "An account set with this name already exists"<div><p>Hi James,<br>
It was hasty to make this assumption but 10.7 does not put things
in the container file if you are using my definition of 10.7
;-)<br>
The developer's preview of OSX lion is called 10.7, thats right no
3rd piece to it, just 10.7. One of my partitions is stuck on it as
Apple does not offer an upgrade path out of it. Whether other
people are going to pay attention to this subtlety in nomenclature
when referring to OSX lion is a good question, but I shouldn't
count on it. 10.7 puts the files where I asserted but sorry to
everyone that I did not strive to be clearer/seek
clarification.<br>
And honestly, it is unclear why that version of 10.7 does not do
it, or if it is even true for everyone else, I'll have to look into
it further.<br>
Thanks,<br>
Sincerely,<br>

process.</p>
<p>In Finder, Duplicated a 2011 account file since MD 2012 deletes
it.</p>
<p>In Finder, Open 2011 version of an account file. MD 2012
imported it correctly.</p>
<p>Via MD 2012, Deleted the account. Entered "yes" when requested
by MD. MD said it deleted all reference to the account.</p>
<p>In Finder, renamed Duplicate copy of the account back its
original name and then Duplicated it again.</p>
<p>In Finder, Open the account file. MD 2012 said it already had an
account by that name. It appears MD 2012 doesn't actually delete
all references to a deleted account.</p>

I ask because I would like to update, but am petrified that I will
either lose my files or corrupt them!<br>
Is there a simple method that Infinite Kind recommend for upgrading
without any danger of stuff going wrong? I am using Windows XP and
do not have Sandbox installed.</p></div>Tom Hendersontag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/191043512012-11-12T16:31:35Z2012-11-12T16:31:35ZUpgraded to 2012, cannot read file "An account set with this name already exists"<div><p>Hi Tom,</p>
<p>Unfortunately I'm not sure when the next release will be, but
hopefully it should be fairly soon.</p>
<p>If you're concerned about losing data, I would suggest using
File -> Export to export your Moneydance data set(s) to
Moneydance 2010 files (you won't lose any data in this conversion)
and backing them up externally. If you'd like as well, you can even
double check that they've been backed up correctly by renaming them
and re-importing them into Moneydance. Once you're satisfied that
you've got solid backups, you can upgrade from there without any
concern for losing data.</p>
<p>Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!</p>

<p>We've just released a public beta of Moneydance 2012.2 which
includes the ability to store your files in different locations. By
default Moneydance will store the data in internal storage, but
when opening data from MD2011 or earlier you will have the choice
to "import" it or to simply convert it to the MD2012 storage model
in the same folder as the original file. You can move internal
files into a folder of your choosing by following these
instructions:<br>
<a href=
"http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/moneydance-2012/how-to-move-your-data-file-to-a-different-location-in-moneydance-2012">
http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/moneydance-2012/how-to-move-your-da...</a></p>
<p>The backups are now being stored within the data file bundle,
and we're thinking of them more like "checkpoints" to get back to a
previous state if something unpredictable goes wrong. We think it
is a much better idea to use a system such as Time Machine or
BackBlaze (or both!) to perform this function, but we're still
enabling it but removing the preferences setting to choose a
separate location.</p>
<p>You can get this beta of Moneydance 2012.2 from here:<br>
