downloaded a fresh new 2010 build 723. I opened my existing
database and told it not to download in the background. I then
clicked online and said download all accounts and 9 new windows
opened and the whole mess froze. Force quit. Then went back to old
moneydance 2008 and it works but the menu bar is no longer at the
top of the screen like mac programs but at the top of the window,
like windows programs. I need help please.
Alan

alanniestag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/7034512009-12-11T18:48:35Z2009-12-11T18:48:35ZMoneydance 2010 won't run properly

Followup #2: Deleted everything--program, plist,
.moneydance files and then redownloaded MD 2010. Used a database
file from time machine and started up the new program. If I
download from only one account, it works fine. If I download from
all accounts at once, the program opens a new window for each
account. If there is a query on one of the accounts regarding a
security, then the process freezes and won't continue and the
program has to be force quit. If there are no queries, then the
process completes but leaves all the windows open--one for each
account that was downloaded. If you then go the the windows to
accept the downloaded transactions, the process is painfully slow.
There is a substantial delay after each edit or acceptance, however
the entire program is not frozen.

So I hope this will give someone from Moneydance enough
information to help me.
now where it should be at the top of the screen on the Mac.
However, I still have occasional problem with the program hanging
and needing to be force quit. This occurs when I try to download
all accounts and there are several accounts with new data.
Sometimes as many as 9 different windows open and the program
becomes non responsive. I have decided that this new feature, which
I would like, is not going to work so I download the accounts
individually and have no problem Too bad, though--it was a good
idea to have them all download.
working fine now.
function. I had a couple of accounts that I had canceled "direct
access" for, but had not cleared out their "online" setups (online
bank/billpay setup>disable). A transaction error would indeed
cause a lockup and the bad accounts failed (naturally).

After I cleared out the problem ones, download all works
fine.

I like a separate register window opening for each account with
new transactions; makes it easy to "match" and reconcile without
missing anything. You can use the markings in the new sidebar to
see this same info, but I usually have the sidebar closed and like
the opened windows better.

avp2tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/7034512009-12-30T14:35:44Z2009-12-30T14:35:44ZMoneydance 2010 won't run properly

The problem of the program hanging when downloading all accounts
appears to occur when the program starts and is also updating the
prices for all the securities at the same time. I think it is just
too much information at once and the program (or maybe the
computer) can't handle it. If I don't have the download in the
background checked and let the "Stock quotes autosyncronizer"
extension update the security prices when the program opens, I can
then download all the accounts later usually without a problem.

alanniestag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/7034512010-02-01T14:14:41Z2010-02-01T14:14:41ZMoneydance 2010 won't run properly

It all seems to be working ok now with the new build
